AV Access · HDMI extender

A small extender for a longer Full HD connection.

Place the source equipment where it belongs and keep the viewing area uncluttered. HDEX40-L carries HDMI video and embedded audio between a matched transmitter and receiver over Cat6a / Cat7 for the 50m limit, making longer installed connections easier to plan.

Bring the picture to the right place

Use the transmitter beside the source and the receiver beside the remote display. The specified video limit is 1080p at 60Hz; distance depends on cable type and the selected signal. Up to 50m with Cat6a/7 is the relevant planning limit for this model.

Keep the remote end useful

A compact HDMI link with stereo PCM audio and IR source control suits TVs, displays and presentation systems that need Full HD output. Set the cable-equalisation switch for the actual link length.

Plan the cable and power together

Use Cat6a / Cat7 for the 50m limit. The supplied adapter powers the matched units through PoC. Test the complete link, including short video cables at each end, before pulling cable through walls or securing equipment.

Before you connect

Make sure it fits your setup.

The correct cable

Cat6a / Cat7 for the 50m limit. Use a properly terminated, continuous run within the documented distance.

Direct link required

Connect the labelled extender ports directly to one another. An RJ45 connector does not make this link compatible with a normal Ethernet switch.

Power and peripherals

The supplied adapter powers the matched units through PoC. This model is for video/audio extension; it is not a general USB extender.

Getting started

From unboxing to connected.

Questions, answered

A little clarity before you buy.

Can I connect it through a network switch?

No. This model needs the specified direct link between its transmitter and receiver. Choose a documented AV-over-IP model for switched-network distribution.

Is the maximum distance the same at every resolution?

Up to 50m with Cat6a/7. Follow the model documentation for cable category and signal-specific limits.

What should I check if there is no picture?

Check input/output direction, power indicators and cable termination. Try a lower source resolution and a short known-good link before testing the installed run.

Plan the connection with confidence.

For detailed wiring and operating instructions, consult the AV Access model documentation.
