Give each task its own screen
Use two independent displays for documents, timelines or a reference window on a compatible Windows system. The USB-C path uses DisplayPort MST, so the laptop’s video capability determines the supported pair of resolutions.
Where KD-E30 makes practical sense.
This model is built around one shared dual-monitor desk: two HDMI desktops and one full-featured USB-C laptop take turns using the same monitors, keyboard, mouse, USB accessories and headset.
Office laptop + two desktop systems
Keep a managed work laptop, a personal or gaming PC and a second workstation permanently wired to one dual-screen desk. Select the computer from the front panel instead of reconnecting the workspace.
Code, build and test across three hosts
Useful for developers, QA teams and IT benches that move between systems while retaining two displays and a common keyboard, mouse, headset and supported USB devices.
Editing or design with two 4K displays
A suitable host can drive dual 4K@60Hz 4:4:4. Confirm GPU capability, colour/HDR workflow, cable length and monitor inputs before treating the maximum specification as an assured operating mode.
Work and gaming on the same screens
KD-E30 supports up to 2560×1440 at 144Hz or 1920×1080 at 240Hz. The computer, adapter, HDMI cable and monitor must all support the selected mode.
Driver-free shared workstation
The hardware KVM/docking path requires no display driver, which suits managed systems where third-party display software cannot be installed. Normal GPU, USB, LAN and audio drivers still need to function on each host.
Dual-screen administrative workspace
EDID emulation helps each host retain its display relationship while it is not selected, reducing window rearrangement when moving between business, monitoring and reporting systems.
Choose KD-E30 when
- You have exactly two HDMI monitors, two desktops and one USB-C laptop.
- You want both monitors and shared USB peripherals to follow one selected computer.
- Your Windows laptop supports DP Alt Mode, DP 1.4a and MST for the required dual-display mode.
- Front-panel switching is convenient for the desk.
Choose a different solution when
- You need to show different computers on the two monitors at the same time; KD-E30 is not a matrix or multiviewer.
- You need three or more displays, remote/hotkey switching, Thunderbolt-specific functions, or network access shared to the desktops.
- You require two independently extended external displays from a MacBook through one USB-C connection; macOS mirrors them on this MST design.
- Your laptop USB-C port is charging/data only, or your desktops cannot provide two usable video outputs each.
Is KD-E30 right for your desk?

Four things to confirm
If your answer is “Yes” to all four, KD-E30 should suit the basic setup.
Choose KD-E30 for one dual-monitor desk shared by two desktops and one USB-C laptop, with switching from the front buttons.
How it works with each device
Two separate external screens are supported when the USB-C port provides DP 1.4a and MST. Use the USB-C cable supplied with KD-E30.
The two external monitors show the same image. Choose a Mac-oriented dual-display model if you need two separate extended screens.
Connect two video outputs and one USB cable from each desktop. HDMI A feeds Monitor A and HDMI B feeds Monitor B.
USB devices follow the selected computer. Use USB 2.0 for keyboard and mouse, and USB 3.0 for drives, webcams and faster devices.
Add the laptop’s own USB-C charger for up to 100W charging. The charger is not included and does not power KD-E30.
Gigabit Ethernet works only with the USB-C laptop. The 3.5mm headset follows whichever computer is selected.

A quick final checklist.
These checks prevent the most common display, cable and charging problems.
Look for DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt support. A charging-only USB-C port cannot drive the monitors.
Both outputs must work together at the resolution and refresh rate you plan to use.
Adapters may be used, but they must work in the correct direction and support the selected display mode.
Four cables connect the two desktops; two more connect KD-E30 to the monitors. HDMI cables are not included.
On macOS, the two external monitors mirror each other with this single-cable MST connection.

Wire it once, then test every host.
Build and verify the complete desk before routing or tying down cables. Disconnect power while making the initial connections and handle all ports gently.
Map Monitor A and B
Connect KD-E30’s two HDMI outputs to the intended displays. Keep A/B mapping consistent for every desktop input group.
Connect both desktops
For each desktop, connect two HDMI outputs and its supplied USB-A-to-USB-B host cable. USB switching will not work without the USB host link.
Connect the laptop
Use the supplied full-featured USB-C cable and a USB-C port that supports video. Add the laptop’s PD charger to the separate Charging port if required.
Add shared devices
Use USB 2.0 for keyboard/mouse-class devices and USB 3.0 for faster peripherals. Connect LAN and the TRRS headset where needed.
Power and configure
Connect the supplied 12V/3A adapter, select each host, then set display arrangement, resolution, refresh rate, HDR and “AV Access iDock” audio as appropriate.
Stress-test the target mode
Check both screens, USB transfers, wake-up, sound, LAN and charging on every host. If unstable, remove adapters, shorten cables and lower resolution/refresh rate to isolate the limit.
Display detection but no picture?
Use the included USB-C cable, try another video-capable USB-C port, update the graphics driver and test a lower mode. For a desktop, confirm both A/B HDMI inputs and the correct cable direction. Test each computer directly with each monitor before reintroducing KD-E30.

Important buying and setup answers.
Can I display a different computer on each monitor?
No. KD-E30 switches the two-monitor workspace as one A/B pair to Laptop 1, Desktop 2 or Desktop 3. It is not a video matrix, split-screen processor or multiviewer.
Will a MacBook extend across both external monitors?
Not as two independent external desktops through this single USB-C MST path. macOS uses SST here, so the two external monitors mirror one another. Windows can extend them when the host supports the required MST/display bandwidth.
What must the laptop’s USB-C port support?
DisplayPort Alt Mode plus USB data are essential. Dual 4K@60Hz requires DP 1.4a and MST support from the laptop USB-C output. A charging-only or data-only USB-C port will not produce the required video.
Are HDMI cables included?
The box includes two USB-A-to-USB-B host cables, one USB-C host cable and the 12V/3A power adapter. HDMI cables are not included. A complete two-desktop/two-monitor installation normally needs six suitable HDMI cables.
Does the included adapter charge the laptop?
No. The included 12V/3A adapter powers KD-E30. Laptop charging needs a separate USB-C PD charger connected to the Charging port. Use the laptop’s original or an equivalent correctly rated adapter, up to 100W.
Do both desktops receive the Gigabit Ethernet connection?
No. The LAN port belongs to the USB-C laptop path only. The connected laptop can retain that network link even when another input is selected.
Why does a desktop show only one monitor?
Each desktop requires both paired HDMI inputs: A feeds Monitor A and B feeds Monitor B. Also connect its USB-B host cable for shared peripherals. Check directional adapters and test both desktop outputs directly with the displays.
Can I switch with a keyboard hotkey or remote button?
Switch between computers using the front buttons. Choose another model if you need hotkey or remote switching.
Why are dual 4K60 or high-refresh modes unavailable?
4K@60Hz is the maximum supported mode, but the result depends on the connected computer and display setup. Confirm GPU output capability, DP 1.4a/MST on the laptop, HDMI bandwidth, colour depth/HDR combination, cable length, adapters and both monitors. Test a lower mode to identify the limiting link.
Why is there no sound through the headset jack?
In the selected computer’s audio settings, choose “AV Access iDock” for the required output and microphone input, then confirm the device appears correctly in the operating system.
Will every USB device switch correctly?
Standard keyboard, mouse, webcam and storage devices are the intended use. Some capture devices, biometric readers, encrypted peripherals and high-current drives can be sensitive to hubs or reconnection. Test critical devices and use self-powered hardware where appropriate.
